MyFriend Your Pet’s app
MyFriend is a one-stop mobile application designed to meet all the needs of pets and their owners. Launched first in Bangkok, Thailand, the app connects pet parents with trusted local pet-related businesses such as vets, groomers, trainers, pet sitters, and pet-friendly venues through a single, user-friendly platform.

My role
I have been with this project since the very beginning, so I was involved in almost everything, including establishing the branding, meeting with users, running offline events, finding potential partners, video editing, and graphic design.
As the company scaled, I transitioned into a highly collaborative role. For my work on the UX/UI part, I work directly with the Design Lead and Developer team for app testing and ensure the design is correct. I also collaborated with the Marketing team to check the content that would be on the platforms.
There have been many changes along the way since the beginning, which is very similar to the design method where we often need to recheck that the design is working as we intend it to be. This iterative process often requires us to re-evaluate core designs and pivot strategies, which reflects the dynamic nature of an early-stage startup and is a core part of our methodology for sustainable growth."

Functional research Insight
To design an effective pet hotel booking experience in Bangkok a dense, relationship-driven urban environment we grounded our approach in competitive analysis and user journey mapping. We identified that pet parents prioritise trust, convenience, and emotional reassurance over price alone: word-of-mouth, proximity, and pickup/delivery options influence decisions
We listened closely for recurring pain points, emotional triggers, and unmet needs around booking pet hotels. Key quotes revealed that users care deeply about trust , convenience , and peace of mind .
These insights were translated into clear design goals: simplify documentation, surface location-based filters, and integrate social proof through verified stories and photos.
From pet hotel owners, we learned they prfioritize proof of vaccination documents and are especially careful about hygiene across pets from different families. Some facilities avoid furniture in rooms or only provide easy-to-clean toys to minimise cross-contamination.

The UI bends to real-world constraints
Collecting pet type and count upfront isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about adapting to how pet hotels actually operate. Unlike human hotels (where rooms are fixed), pet hotels have fluid business models: some charge per room (with max pet limits), others per pet, and many blend both.
By gathering this data early, the system dynamically reshapes search results and pricing to match each hotel’s unique rules.
The app instantly filters for hotels allowing multi-cat stays and auto-suggests room combos.
This flexibility isn’t incidental,it’s the core of a frictionless flow where the UI bends to real-world constraints, not the other way around
Key take away
Designed for Bangkok’s busy pet parents — this end-to-end booking flow reduces cognitive load, prevents abandonment, and builds trust through smart defaults, localized features, and seamless data flow.
